General Terms and Conditions

  1. SIFE teams must register online no later than 11:59:59 PM on 28 October 2011 in their appropriate country time zone. Time zones are as follows:
    • Canada: EDT
    • Mexico: CDT
    • United States: CDT
  2. For complete information regarding the Campbell's Let's Can Hunger Challenge, please browse the Let's Can Hunger website.
  3. Final Impact Report components include the online submission of a completed page of quantitative results, in addition to a 3-5 minute video project narrative describing the team's activities and impact. The online Final Impact Report must be submitted no later than 11:59:59 PM in the appropriate time zone for each respective country on the date designated for that country. Entries submitted after the deadline will not be eligible to be considered for judging.
  4. Final Impact Reports submitted for the Campbell's Let's Can Hunger Challenge will be evaluated by a panel of Campbell employees.
  5. In Mexico and the United States only, a team may be awarded $250 USD in return for a pledge to raise 5,000 lbs. In addition to the initial award of $250 USD, the teams raising the most pounds in Mexico and the United States will receive an additional award after Final Impact Reports are submitted. See details under "The 5,000+ Challenge" for the number of awards available in your country. Note that a limited number of awards are available.

A team must indicate a pledge by selecting the appropriate box on this registration form. Upon the close of the registration period $250 USD will be disbursed to the first 96 teams in the United States and seven in Mexico pledging to raise at least 5,000 lbs. Checks will be mailed to the team's Faculty Advisor at the address listed on the registration form. Should the pledge remain unfulfilled, the team agrees to return the initial disbursement.
  6. Participating SIFE teams agree to abide by all logo guidelines when using the Campbell Let's Can Hunger logo.
  7. Participating SIFE teams agree to recognize, through appropriate signage and language, the sponsorship of the Let's Can Hunger Challenge by Campbell Soup Company, including in the team's video project narrative.
  8. As Campbell is the sponsor of the Campbell's Let's Can Hunger Challenge, teams are strongly encouraged to collect Campbell products. However, all nonperishable goods edible for human consumption will be recognized in the team's poundage without distinction, subject to rule 9.
  9. SIFE teams agree to count only those items that are nonperishable and accepted by their recipient food bank in the team's total poundage. Nonperishable is defined by the United States Congress as "any food items(s) made for human consumption that do not require further processing to be considered edible nor require special handling to remain edible after purchase."
  10. The amount of the SIFE team's collection shall be determined by the weight or count of the items, as appropriately documented. Appropriate documentation shall be required to be held on file at all times, available upon request. Documentation includes receipts from organizations receiving donations, or in the case where implausible, documented correspondence from the organization or individual receiving donations.
  11. Total poundage shall be determined from a 1:1:1 ratio from items to dollars to pounds. For an item to count as "1", it must weigh 10 oz. or more (the weight of a standard can). In the case of a mass quantity of items weighing less than 10 oz. (i.e. Ramen Noodles), the poundage of the items shall be counted rather than the number of items. In the case of an item that weighs significantly more than a pound, again, the poundage should be counted rather than the number of items (i.e. a five pound bag of flour).

A dollar shall count as 1 lb. 13 pesos shall count as 1 USD.
  12. By registering for the challenge, the team agrees to receive communications regarding the Campbell's Let's Can Hunger Challenge.
  13. By registering for the challenge, teams in Mexico and the United States commit to submitting periodic Activity Tracking Reports. Due dates are available by clicking on your country link under "Activity Tracking Reports" at www.letscanhunger.com.
  14. Canadian Teams: Please visit www.letscanhunger.com for specific details and awards available to Canadian SIFE teams.
